We have another addition to our family. With Lily on the way Justin and I had to do some hard thinking. We travel to see Justin's family in KY about once a year and we travel to see mine in Houston a couple times a year as well. We had no idea how big strollers were... to fit two suitcases and a stroller in either of our trunks would be a challenge... not to mention her clothes, toys, and whatever else she is going to need when we travel! EEK! (If she's anything like her mama, she won't pack light)
We decided we would like to see if it were possible to get a used SUV so that we could have more room when we traveled. We found a 2008 Ford Escape at a dealership in Abilene and went to check it out. As long as we could reduce our debt and car payment we would still be on our Dave Ramsey adventure....
We told the sales guy we wanted to trade in both our Lancer and our Hyundai (which got a really bizarre look) When he came back with our trade in values we kindly thanked him for his time and stood to leave... He went back to his boss. That happened about 5 times. After a total of about four hours of talking to the sales guy and him going back and forth between his boss and us we got what we wanted. Our car loan is now about 1/2 of what it was and so is our monthly payment!
I shall now introduce Minerva the Mommy Car!!

Bonus... Hank the Craigslist F-150 is fixable! Two cars. One payed off and one with lower debt and monthly payment. I'm a happy girl.
We will miss you Earl and Ruby! You were wonderful cars. May you run for someone nice for another 12 years.
